On the 1st October 2011, Philip Chun was appointed the Airport Building Controller ('ABC') for the Canberra Airport. The successful appoint to the ABC position at Canberra complements the presence of Philip Chun and all the Federal controlled Eastern Seaboard Airports including Townsville, Brisbane, Archifield, Gold Coast, Sydney Kingsford- Smith, Bankstown, Camden, Melbourne, Essendon and Moorabbin.
This role involves the issuing of building permits, carrying out inspections and issuing Certificate of Compliance at the completion of each and every project carried out on airport land. The ABC is responsible for ensuring the Airports (Building) Act and Regulations are enforced and complied with for all building works and civil works carried out by the Airport Lessee Companies and other external builders and developers.
In the role of ABC Philip Chun take a consultative approach, meeting with key stakeholders to determine compliance with the Act and Regulations at the earliest possible time to ensure delays are not encountered at the completion of works when certificate of compliance is being sort. It is Philip Chun's approach to ensure the Airport Lessee Companies are fully informed of their obligations under the Act and Regulation and that community standards are maintained whilst facilitating the permit process so as to avoid untimely delays.
This contract is for a Four year period with a further two x two year option.
