| Based on our over 20 years of experience in dealing with local approval authorities (or Authorities Having Jurisdiction) around the globe, the Philip Chun team understands that unique, complex, or significantly sized projects, require more than just code interpretations to gain quick and worry-free approvals. We understand that each jurisdiction possesses a unique set of challenges including; rules, methods, and practices. Our experience in navigating these relationships ranges from interacting with small, geographically remote agencies, to large, highly-specialized departments. A significant benefit to engaging our AHJ liaison services, lies in our ability to not only "speak the language" of the code official, but also understand the primary motivation behind a particular issue or concern they may have posed. This is because, in addition to offering the very best in code consulting and design advice, Philip Chun has essentially acted the role of an AHJ from every single office since our inception. In Australia, our primary offering is that of a Building Surveyor/Certifier responsible to review and approve building design documents. We even directly issue building permits based on these approvals. In the Unites States, a significant portion of our business is to provide Third-Party Plan Reviewer and Official Site Inspections for many governmental authorities throughout the country. This means we have a unique understanding of how the process works, why it is critical to the process, and what it takes to close the gap between an issue and a resolution.
